You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi All
I have a Garmin Dakota 20 with the GB Discoverer maps(Full UK 1:50000 OS) on the Micro-SD card.
Does anyone know of a way to view the SD content on an Android device (Samsung Galaxy S2, Asus Transformer)?
I have searched the Interweb and failed 🙁
Cheers
Paul
What format is it in? You will need to have something that reads that format.
I thought I read a few months back that Garmin had done some Apple/Android app - if so, would that do it?
Hi
Thanks DB. I think those Apps don't really do what I was looking for.
Basically, an App that renders the Garmin proprietary format (additional features are a nice to have).
Thanks again.
I'm in a similar predicament, same tablet too.
From what I've learned so far Oruxmaps (on Google Play) can do this job, but you need to get the map img unlocked in order for it to work 😕
Even without the Garmin maps, it is a pretty good piece of kit, with on and offline mapping (Google maps, OSM, etc) . I've been playing around with it for a few days and I may just have a go at putting a proprietory img on it to test the offline capabilities.
The only alternative to that is to get a netbook running windows 7 for the sole purpose of running Basecamp, which I'd rather not.
Thanks for the info. Blox 🙂
