I've got a cheap TV for holiday use that handily runs off 12v but I'm struggling to get it to play anything useful via USB. It does work as I can play video files from a camera but I can't seem to get any other video to work. According to the website it'll play "AVI (MPEG - 1/2 and MPEG-4 divx 4 coded) and MP4 (MPEG - 1/2 and MPEG-4 divx 4 coded)". I've tried converting a video using VLC but that doesn't have a divx option for conversion. I tried H264 MP4 but that didn't work. Here are their conversion suggestions (for a different device, but mine isn't listed anywhere) https://help.kogan.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001913728-Why-Won-t-my-Video-Files-Play-on-my-Kogan-Blu-Ray-Player-

Here is some media info. The one the left plays, the one on the right doesn't:

Any tips on getting it to work? I don't really want to plug an extra media player or laptop in

Use Handbrake for transcoding.

TBH, I've had poor results with any inbuilt TV player I've played with. Playing from USB direct is more trouble than it's worth despite what it says on the box IME.

Handbrake with the video encoder set to MPEG 2, the audio set to AC3 and the container set to MPEG (not MKV).
