Obviously face time Apple to Apple work seamlessly but I can't get it to work on my android phone. Be handy sometimes when talking to wife or kids.

WhatsApp. Or Skype.

One is owned by Facebook, the other owned by Microsoft.

Choose wisely lol

WhatsApp works for our family chats, works well between Android and IoS. At work we use Google Chat/Hangouts, which also works well across Android, PC, Mac and IoS.

I’m still trying to get my work new Samsung Android phone to give me reliable WiFi voice calling, something that my personal iPhone handles with relatively consomethinge ease. I don’t dare try video calling on the Android

So the icon showing a video option when you make a call isn't actually an option then? Use what's app to call mate in oz regularly but never thought about using it for vids. Wikl give it a try.

Just use any one of the apps listed, what are you scared of?

WhatsApp for me. Messenger is available too but don't like using a social tool for all calls. Skype a possibility too but I can't stand stkype. Loads options my dad can manage it easy and he is not very good with computers.

Re stable WiFi connection. This is more a your phone issue or a your WiFi setup issue than a android issue.

We use Duo, seems to work very well and does integrate with my contacts, can do video calls or normal voice cals from the app.

Works better than my previous experience with Skype.

Downside is the other person has to have already downloaded the app and be set up with it.
