Just got home from the hospital, feeling a little anticlimatic (is that a word? you know what I mean, anyway) so thought I'd share the fact with the STW hive that I am now the proud father of a smashing little boy born at 20.12 on the 01-01-2012. Wierd huh?
So proud of my wonderful wife, she was a right trooper and just got on with what looked to be an incredibly difficult job. Humbled me to see it, glad I could support her in my own small way.
Anyway, the only thing is, we were completely set for having a girl, names and everything.
Suggestions below, silly or serious, would be welcome for first names that go nicely with the surname of Wood. You never know...
Crack on STW!
Congratulations!
Edward?
Like it... would need to be hyphenated with another wood for full effect though...
Congrats!
What names were you considering for a girl? (may help with suggestions....)
Edit: Jed
Well done and congratulations.
Jeronimo is always a good one.
Has to be Joe. 😉
Edward can be shortened to Woody, that's what inspired me.
Tom is a good un.
Congrats!
Rudiger?
we had Jessica, Eleanor and Isobelle as the main possibilities.
LIKING Jeronimo! (not sure my wife would)
Excellent start to the new year...
I had a Dutch friend called Gert, that could work.
Matthew, Andrew, Thomas or Gordon
All the best ! We were completely sure that our last child was going to be a girl and the name we picked was Eve, but out came a boy so i said would you adam and eve it, so he became Adam. So what was going to be the name of the child if she was had been a girl. Barry (good lancs opening batsmen) or some name begining with R. ( then you could say he's R wood)
Flock
Excellent! 😀
Obviously the only choice would be 'Elfin'....
😆Gert
Wood is an ace name for comedy first names isn't it? My sister was nearly called Holly, until my folks thought about it; they called the dog Holly instead.
Ronnie ?
😉
Congratulations on your new arrival 😀
As for names how about
James
Elliot
Elijah 😉
Michael
awesome, congrats to all 3 of you
kimbers jr is 14mts now
its cheesey as hell but every day he just gets better,
even the jet of diahorea he sprayed across the bedroom on boxing day is just an amusing anecdote now
Louis
Curtis
Pablo
Congratulations!!
I also became a Dad for the first time this week too, my amazing wife gave birth to a perfect little boy at 12:43am on the 31st.

We have decided to call him Jasper.
Richiethesilverfish hope your names not carrot. congratulations 2 u 2.
Ha ha - fortunately not!
Ruaridh? (pronounced Ruri)
Did knno somebody called Roger and not a word of a lie his last name was Mee.
What about that for a name Roger Mee.
Congrats!
Ripley?
Jesiah?
Albert.

Congratulations! Good things DO happen in this world....and this post has just reminded me to NEVER forget that.
I hope mother and baby are resting peacefully and are home safe with you very soon.
Fantastic stuff! After becoming a dad two weeks ago I can tell you.....
...very little actually. Except it rocks!
If Seren had been a boy, we were going to go with Noah. Although I like Seth and Magnus too.
Well done to the pair of you!
Congrats ! our boy Henry is 10 wks today ! and just managed his first ever 6hr stretch at night....amazing, bet he doesnt do it again for weeks !
Congratulations. Expecting one in June - hopefully find out the variety next week.

How about Chip
So you're after three syllables, then? Like Jonathan or Isambard . . .
Ethan
Kyle
Oliver
congrats to you!!!!
Thanks for the good wishes, and some brilliant suggestions, keep em coming. Off to see Mum and Noob now with a view to bringing them home for lunch timeish, all being well. I shall see if any of the cracking above suggestions above fit.
Cheers again, keep the names coming!
Woody x
A few more longer names:
Adrian
Benjamin
Dominic
Elliot
Nathaniel
Congrats again - let us know what you decide!
Oh I really like Ezra as a name for a boy.
Ezra Wood sounds good, oh that rhymes.
Oooh, lots of babies - congratulations to you all 😀
I agree with Esme - three syllables would work well.
And don't forget to consider the initials . . .
. . . Samuel Thomas Wood 😆
Can't believe no one's suggested Phil.
I wanted Ezra for our son Pigface. The wife was ok with it till I mentioned that an ex MotoCross world champ was called Ezra Lusk then she went off it!
Congratulations v8ninety and family.
Can i suggest Kenneth (Ken) for young v8ninety name
KenWood? Hmmm, it has been suggested... Lol.
I actually like Samuel Thomas Wood, but m'lovely wife doesn't like Sam. Ezra is interesting, and Dylan has been suggested too. Dylan Joe Wood maybe? I've been told a definate no to Nathaniel, it's a naughty boy's name according to my mother who was a primary school teacher for oddon years.
I agree three syllables sound nice, but two syllables and a single syllable middle name does the job too I think?
I do like Joe...
Maybe Elfin as a middle name? Would that be asking for trouble? 😯 lol x
Woody
Congrats!
Some of the names on here.. 😆
Looks like an Edward to me. It's a good enough name for EIGHT kings since 1066.
From this day forth you shall be known as Little Ted.
