I get my work shifts/days in a list format which I find annoying and really want to see them in a monthly /weekly format as a calendar with just a simple working/not working or ideally a colour for working/not working.

My Gooogle calendar has too much going on to be able to do this effectively so I'm looking for a separate app that I can VERY quickly add working/ not working to each day as I get the shifts. No need for times etc. Just a simple colour would be great.

Any suggestions for an Android app? The simpler ther better.

Yeah I know you don’t want google calendar but really the answer is google calendar

Just in case you don’t know, you can have separate calendars within google and assign different colours so you can toggle on and off the bits you’re interested in so you could have your personal “car service 2pm Wednesday” and all that stuff in blue and your shifts in a separate calendar in lime green so you can toggle it on or off.

If you want really basic.... I download this, colour my shift days in/out, then print it and pop it on the fridge.

Alternatively, if you use outlook, you can block out days on the calender in there

Google calendar is too clunky to do that. Have to click in multiple places to turn one calendar off and another on the colour the entire day.

Start another calendar [in settings] just for work..... You can have multiple calendars.

Google won't do what I need. I  tried and it still takes a lot of clicking, dragging, etc to put in a work day. Then it won't let me use a different colour for holidays. I just want a simple calender with a few colours for days. No need for times or reminders.

If you find Google Calendar "too clunky" and don't require reminders, I'd suggest a paper diary and a pen.

genuinely dont understand why youd think its too much clicking and dragging to put a workday in on the google calendar.

heres my calendar for a particular month.  i put my work pattern in originally, plus my wifes, and have different colours to tell them apart.  i just did a ghost entry as tho id been given a new work day to put in.  clicked the day, then 'new' 'event' called it 'work' and selected a colour.  simple as that.  do you need it any more simple, as im just not sure how much easier it could be.

and as mentioned previously you can even select/deselect different calendars if you so wish.

Far easier with an app.

If your shift info comes though as a list, then you should be able to reformat the information in google sheets then bulk upload straight into google calendar.

ive done this before for a training plan and from memory it was pretty painless & straight forward

If you REALLY don't want to use Google Calendar then we've been using this one as a shared calendar for family stuff.  Has an Android app too.

Time Tree works better than Google Calendar for my needs, but if there's a specific app for shift workers maybe that's the way

indeed. I updated that last year for around 3 years as it felt good.

I use Shift Work Calendar which allows me to colour code a variety of shifts so I have a quick visual reference which I find very easy to use.  You can set up multiple calendars, so you could have one for you and you partner or for your children for example and can also apply two different shifts a day.

Both myself and my partner work shifts so I have one for me and my activities and appointments and one for us.
