It's borked isn't it?
Appeared last night whilst using Photoshop CS2.
Screen is a 1440 by 900, 17 inch. Laptop is well out of warranty.
Wonder whether it could just be a loose cable and if so what do I check?
Thanks in advance.
I had similar. Turned out that the screen needed replaced.
Yup, I'd say the panel is knackered - It is possible to replace just the panel if you can disassemble the lid, and find the model number -I've done it on an IBM before.
TBH, if its just 1 line, I'd try and put it up with it for a bit, but if you're doing image work etc I suppose you'll notice it more.
I had this happen to a screen, and think it's generally caused by impact damage
needed to replace the screen but wasn't cost effective to do so
kept using it for about 6 months until there was something wrong with the ribbon connector and the screen, now with about 5 blank vertical lines, kept whiting-out
I had a simia.r problem a few years back, increasing number of White spots on the screen, soon noticed it only happened after my gf had been using it for her dissertation, finally found out she only half got the technology and was still using tipp-ex on the screen
