Anyone doing it?
Looks a bit hillier than I was expecting.
Looks good, how much was entry and what do you get other than a gpx file for that entry fee?
Who is behind it? Who is the big cheese?
I camembert the tension
I always struggled to carry enough kit with me on these kinds of rides until I discovered there was already a well known and purpose built solution. Now a rack lets me take whatever I need.
Now a rack lets me take whatever I need.
That was too subtle for me. Chapeau
I did it a few years ago with emm en tal. Was handy as they were a big wheel so rolled faster than normal. Did get hot which made everything melt a little
Whey to go! It does look tough. A lot more Gruyère-ling than expected but a Brie-z if your fit enough. ... If there is a kids entry, maybe get them a Babybel for the handlebars.
Does anybody actually give edam?
It was £25. For this you get:
- route planned by someone with decades of experience ( ensuring route is rideable and avoids busy roads )
- hire of two venues
- insurance
- hire of a van/fuel to act as emergency vehicle
- loads of cakes and beverages at the finish
- people's time on the two days
Seems fair to me. I enjoyed it, will probably do it again
No cheese?
Cheese is expensive
I did complain about the lack of cheese and was informed that covid regulations made it impossible to hand out.
A perfect storm of Brexit / cargo ship / and covid had also made it difficult to obtain.
The prospect of double dipping in the fondue pot is not a good one at the moment
