I'm at a work conference in Vegas next week.

As of now I have no idea what time I will get away but it's likely to be last minute or day before when I know.

I'm not interested in drinking or gambling... but if possible I'd hire a bike or join some shorter tour if something feasible is possible.  Anyone any experience in Vegas....

I can look up trails etc. its more logistics ... I'd need a bike and transport etc.

Few years ago now, but I contacted Mcghies bike shop and did a couple of days road bike hire from them, and a MTB tour on some of the single track near Red Rock Canyon.

There’s some great road riding west of the strip from the door of the shop, you can do a couple of long loops on fairly quiet wide roads, the Red Rock Canyon loop is also worth doing, from memory its about 17 miles.

The singletrack was also pretty good, nice and flowy with a fair bit of descent, we chose to ride from the shop so theres was a fair amount of climbing, but they would also drive out to the top of the trail.

Riding in the suburbs is ok, but I chickened out of going anywhere near the strip.

I'm thinking I might get a few hours .. website say's they are closed Tue/Wed but I'm more likely to steal a few hours Thursday...  Looks like about 20miles from my hotel so I could theoretically get a taxi out... grab 2-3 hours and taxi back.

I wish I could have stayed another day and gone to see the Grand Canyon or flown back Friday night but I have a flight Sunday from the UK in the opposite direction... so unless I  leave Friday morning I'd be stuffed. 🙁

Yep. Cottonwood area.

We got a guide to pick us up with bikes and drop us off and fetch us a few hours later.

Bootleg is good, but might not work with your timings.

Oh, and, Lotus of Siam. You can thank me later.

+1 for McGhies up at Blue Diamond. Loads of rental bikes and good trail from the shop. You can do a big loop all the way up to the Dead Horse Trail, back down 3 Mile Smile and return to Blue Diamond. Trail Forks will show what’s available.
