Has anyone got/drove the newer Movano? The one based on the Pug/Citroen van?
I've seen one at a mildly sensible price and was wondering what they're like and how much of it is a Vauxhall (I hate Vauxhalls). It just looks like it's just a rebadged Pug boxer and I think it has the same engine and gearbox. If it is simply a Pug with Vauxhall stickers on it, it should be fine as there are loads of Boxers around.
I think they’re all much of a muchness. There was a time when the fiat version for instance had a different engine but I think now there’s not really anything to chose between them other than maybe dealership convenience if that maters in terms of who is local to you
got an 22 plate L4 boxer after driving merc vans for 30 years and really like it.
My understand of the current bunch is that the Fiat has more toys and the stronger Fiat engine
The Pug Boxer and Citroen Relay are less well spec'd and share the same PSA group engine (hence they are cheaper to buy)
They're all pretty much the same now, with just the badges differing.
Fiat Ducato body (I reckon the body will change with the next revision, as the Ducato body is an old design now due to Fiat not having the resources to do anything other than tweak the existing design), with I think a PSA engine (I did do some recalls on them, but can't actually remember if it was the PSA or FPT engine!).
Thanks. I've watched a couple of videos and it appears to be a Boxer with a slightly different spec
It's probably worth mentioning that the previous two Movano's were rebadged* Renault Masters. The last pure Vauxhall van was the Combo-B (one with the Corsa-C front end). Vivaro was a rebadged Trafic.
*I say rebadged. Officially they were a 'joint' collaboration between Renault/Nissan and GM, but they were pretty much pure Renault designs.
I used to occasionally drive a Corsa/Combo van at work about 25 years ago. Hideous thing with an awful driving position!

Not for the last few years - the ducato now has the same engine as the others. If you're looking at the Movano then anything of the same vintage will have the same engine. There was a brief period where they came with a 2.0 rather than 2.2 engine (2016-2019)- I think the 2.0 has some foibles that are worth a bit of research of you're looking at a van of that vintage.
The engine comes in different levels of tune but post 2019 they're all the same unit
It's a pre-registered 2022 van with under 500 miles.

I believe the preferred term is Aussie Boganmobile.
My understanding of the 2022-on Movano / Boxer / Ducato / Relay is they all now share the same engine. Days of the different Fiat 2.3 are gone.

My apologies. I've set autocorrect to avoid it happening again.

bit odd. Vans were absolute hens teeth in 2022. That’s when I bought mine and the nearest dealer to me in Scotland that had anything in stock was in mid wales. Here there was a waiting list to get on the waiting list
Why would anyone register one then and not sell it I wonder.
Probably been sat in a dealer that long waiting for warranty work 🙈
I drive a movano(flat bed) 22 plate with work. Had it over a year no major issues. But it’s very cheap plastics/wafer thin doors etc. Not sure which engine in mine but its gutless
👍

The stelantis vans are built very light - with vans getting bigger and bigger they're also getting heavier but still subject to the same gross vehicle weight. Sprinters are huge but becuase theyre also heavy the largest ones carry less than a ton now. My boxer is approx half a ton lighter than the sprinter it replaces which means I can carry half a ton more. 50% more payload is difficult to argue against really.
