[Closed] Variable speed cameras, do they operate all the time?

Ie normally if they flash 50 mph you know that go much quicker and they will get you. However if they are 'off' will they still get you if your doing say 85mph?

Somebody once told me that they're incapable of processing more than one plate per second. I think this is BS but there you go.

What does amaze me is the amount of people who don't understand the word "average". Speeding through the cameras and then sharply braking before they go through it's trap.

But he's talking about variable ones - i.e the variable speed sections on say the M25 - those don't take an average, they just go off at what ever speed they're set for (e.g. 40mph + xxmph)

They are only gatso's stuck up on the gantrys, so as said, will be set to a particular speed.
