Hi all,
Boring I know!
I transferred my pension recently to a Vanguard Target Retirement Fund having decided I was fed up with the high fees of my actively managed portfolio.
Now that I have more money with Vanguard I am being offered the Vanguard Personal Financial Planning service, which whilst the fees are fairly low, are still higher than the Target Retirement Fund that I’m currently using.
Interested if anyone has experience of managed service offered by Vanguard? My instinct is to stick with low cost funds rather than go back to wasting fees on extra advice and fund management, given that this is what I have been trying to get away from.
Have you looked at historical performance of both to try to ascertain if spending the money on additional management fees could be worth it? This would be how I would decide anyway.
You are of course competing against inflation which is a hard one to beat unless you take on more risk.
Yea but the managed option has only been offered since April this year so not enough time to judge. I think I’m Going to stick with unmanaged as that was the reason I changed in the first place.
