My van had a bit of a repair done to the plug/wiring to the coolant temp sensor. I'm pretty sure it had some braided metal protection on it before,  but it's bare now.

What's the best way or product to wrap over it? Don't want to be unplugging it as it's delicate,  hence needing the repair, (and shielding).

Other thoughts are spira wrap and then tape the spira wrap but bit untidy.

There's a stack of choice and a catalogue here... https://www.mcmaster.com/products/split-tubing/

Once you identify the product RS, Farnell, etc should be able to help in the UK

Thats for friction though it helps with heat.

I dont like corrogated conduit though as it chaffs the loom. Vws are a bugger for it

There are a couple of sections of wrapping choices below that, including a spiral wrap that'll deal with 2100F.

Materials include silicone rubber, polyester and glass-fibre (not GRP) with varied properties to resist sparks, signal interference, heat, abrasion, etc

Is it not worth asking the garage to finish the job you paid them for?

Well there is that,  but honestly it'll be quicker just to sort it myself.  They still did a better job that the first bodgers who used crimp connectors and silicone sealant!
