Need something bigger than our Berlingo but not massive so thinking SWB van of some sort. There are three of us so need three seats but would like to have two additional seats in back (ie three seats with 60/40 split)which we can use when required but most of the time these will need to fold flat and tip up out of the way (I think this *should* then allow bikes to fit in length ways which I gather they typically won't in most SWB vans.

I believe VW Kombi seats do this. We have friends with things like LWB Vivaros which is too big but also not keen on bulkhead as this seems to cut down a bit on flexibility. Other options I have seen folk suggest are things like Hynudai i800 but these don't seem to have removeable/folding seats so don't work. I am thinking a Vivaro/Trafic SWB minibus, then remove third row of seats but not sure if second row of seats fold flat (or are split for that matter).

Any advice or alternative suggestions?

Cheers

The double combo seat folds flat, it can then be unclipped from the floor and moved forward but you’d have to secure it.

the single doesn’t fold flat, it pitches forward to give you access to the back from the sliding door.

At least in mine it does.

Get a LWB van, I wish I had.

How many bikes are you likely to be carrying?

Transit Custom? You can take the bulkhead out on any van, it's just bolts, or worst case, pop rivets that can be drilled out.

nissan nv200 combi. Ive left a single folded seat in the back & unbolted the 2 seat. Never needed it. Perfect size vehicle. Im surprised they are not more popular.

I would prefer to leave the two-seat in there - does it fold out of the way at all or is it fixed?

Yes it folds away same as the single seat, but removed gives an extra 6 inches or so of space, which is the perfect length for a bike to fit in. I would post a pic, but this rubbish forum makes it too difficult to do that.
