Sinks all wired in and water works but leaks like a fountain at this join from the tap flexi hose to the water hose.
Tried loads of PTFE tape around but there must be a way of connecting them. What part am I missing?

Are the items new because it looks like what ever the crimp fitting was securing (Likely a male connection)-has broken off.
If it was me I'd cut it off to the rubber and use a serated male-male coupler and hose clamps
No - they are second hand - van they used to be in got written off and these were salvaged so good chance of that being the case. What used to be there?
Looking close at the crimp.end you can see the remains of white plastic which probably used to be like half of the below in plastic.
Id cut the crimp end back to rubber and measure the ID and get something like the below in the correct od to fit your hose and then push it all together and clamp with jubilee clips.
