so rang a company owned by us the tax payer, that almost went bust, after 5 minutes of asking questions the cso said we dont do van insurance.
(cso call centre operative)
Second company wanted 1400 quid for the cover i have now for 560 quid, she seemed really disapointed when i refused her kind offer of sending me a written quote,
Third comapny owned by a shop, wanted 1100 quid, so why the sudden rise in prices and who offers a cheap insurance quote.
National Farmers Union.
adrain flux
NFU + 1
A good insurance broker?
I reckon NFU prob best. Currently van is with Direct Line, cost £237 seems Ok (if it was in full time use) to me but still more than either of the cars which are used all of the time- van is just a weekend warrior.
Mine was cheaper than last year, with Direct Line 😉
NFU all the way, the service is second to none too.
direct line again. they beat the nfu by some margin.
My Direct Line renewal has just come through and has gone up by 33%, which is rediculous as I've never had a crash or claimed. Need to shop around this weekend.
Commercial Vehicles Direct. Very good quotes
Yeah, NFU are great - wouldn't even offer to quote me, because the hardtop fitted to my pick-up was fitted by me and not a registered garage.
Adrian Flux ftw - insured me cheaper than anyone else I could find and they were the only ones I declared my power upgrade to at initial enquiry.
This was brought about btw by my policy jumping from £800 to £2000 with Brit - for no other reason than it being 2011 and not 2010 - oh and that's with extra NCB chucked in to boot.
CVD beat Adrian Flux by about £200 for my T5.
NFU were easily the best for me. They were really great about the modifications I was making to the van, although they stressed that anything structural (additional seats, windows) would have to be done professionally.
NFU call centre refused insurance for my post code so rang the very nice lady at the local office, no probs, just 200 quid more.
But she was really helpful and chatty.
Privilege - you don't have to be posh! Beat NFU and Adran Flux, now on my third year with them, renewal sent to me was LESS than last year.
