I need to hire a van to move some stuff.
I can get Toyota proace Ev for £75 or a Citroen dispatch diesel for £65
Location to Pick up stuff is about 140 miles away.
I could charge the van at home over night but only using a 13amp plug. Can’t charge it at the pick up location.
Which should I get?

Charging on the road at fast chargers is price per mile, more than diesel.
The home plug on a 13a plug will take more than overnight to fully charge. Takes about 8 hours on a 7kw EV charger.

Depends on volume and weight of the goods as well. Payload might be less in an EV, depending on battery weight

10GBP is a reasonable price for a world of anxiety, potential inconvenience and extra time wasted while it charges. Plus, you'll be absolutely laser focussed on miles remaining and get a workout gripping the steering wheel.
Just think what you'll be missing with a diesel...
Honestly, I am very pro EV and we have two (including a van) but you will struggle to get more than 100 miles without needing to charge in single digit temps. We had one for two years (the Peugeot version) and even with a few years experience maximising range we couldn't get more out of it. The 75kwh battery is about 63 usable, and nursing it around you would get 2.4m/kWh in winter. If all your stuff fitted in a Buzz the answer might be different 😜 It would be one charge stop Vs 3 or 4. Just rent the diesel and don't put yourself off EVs by going through that.
As a household which solely uses electric cars now, I'd say that is definitely a job for the diesel.
Unless you want to experience all the worst bits of EV ownership in one go in which case crack on.
Our planners at work use a rule of thumb of 1 hour charging for every 100 miles driven in EV vans at this time of year.
EV owner here. At this time of year 100% get the diesel, unless you have a fetish about being freezing and laser focussed on a dashboard range counter whilst driving slowly. If that's the case you are going to have some fun!

A standard 3 pin plug 13A charger from someone with not home charger will be probably 3x that again…. Motorway chargers *may* be quicker (potentially twice as fast) if the van can accept the charge fast enough, but will be more expensive.
the EV would only make sense for running around town not 140 miles…
I was considering buying an e-van at one point and am relieved to have dodged that bullet! Not ready for prime time really. But as others have said e-cars are pretty good for most users at this point.
For a one-off rental I'm sure you'd cope but it's an inferior tool for the task.
I'm very much pro-EV but that van for that job sounds like a lot of extra hassle. It'll realistically just make it to your destination then need charging, which you'll need to do on a rapid charger so will cost a similar amount of money to Diesel.
Assuming you need to take it back fully charged then you'll need either a rapid charger again when you get back or to leave it for 10 ish hours on a 7kW charger if you've got one available.
So - Diesel for that job.
Depending which version it is you’d get there easy, then find a fast charger for the return. It’ll add enough miles in 20 minutes or so to continue. You can even out the heaters on as they don’t make a huge difference if kept low speed.
However, if this is your first experience of an EV it may not go well especially if it’s the smaller sized battery.
