I am looking for a front window blackout screen (front and sides) for sleeping in my van, any recommendations? I have read some good and bad reviews online for quality/robustness etc.

If you are not stealth camping Silver Screens external www.silverscreens.co.uk/start.html are fantastic. Website is rubbish but pick up the phone and they were great. External mean you don't get condensation on the windscreen. I've never had a problem with them flapping in the wind. Sometimes they are wet but they dry very quickly.
Internal are more stealthy, not affected by the wind but I found harder to fit and get a good blackout.

Go for external, the internal ones are not great.
Silverscreens get great reviews - beware though, the website is from the dark ages

I like internal screens as I can then just fit one or two rather than the whole front end (but then I'm used to sleeping with no curtains/blinds at home too).

Internal pack down smaller , don't get soaked in the rain and require storage of wet bulky item and can be fitted from inside without getting out when it's raining ...main atvantage of out side ones is no condensation on the inside but we find that minimal compared to our old invented van our new one has lots of cross flow

-did I mention we have inside ones.

Mainly because in the north of Scotland in year round use the last thing I need is an insulated mess frozen to the window but they work well for keeping the heat out in the summer too. .

We have the eBay Italian ones. I can see how if you have hooves for hands they would be considered fragile but ours have not broken and that's three years.

We had a cheap external one and it was okay

Bought a second hand Silver Screens one off eBay and it's been great. Dries quickly if wet, has a fold down mid section if you want to let light in during the day etc. Handmade in West Yorkshire too!

External has its plus points but a real pain if it's wet, covered in snow etc....

I much prefer out internal ones. We bought silverscreens from www.caktanks.co.uk
Great quality. We also have a curtain behind front seats from van-x. We normally just use that, we slept well during aNorwegian summer with just the curtain....
