Ive got a Nissan nv200 van and want to do a pretty basic conversion, just sound/heat insulate it and ply line and put a little bed frame in.
Is there something which combines the sound and heat insulation in one product and works well? Or otherwise any advice on what seperate products to use? Easy to fit preferably!

Deadening co uk , silent coat and dodo thermo liner is whats on mine. Fleece insulation or sheeps wool on top then ply over. Plenty of youtube videos showing how to do it, check out the combe valley campers video channel on youtube for some guides.

Same here. The silent coat goes on easily if you make sure it's warm. A little roller comes in handy to push it down into creases and corners. Dodo liner stuck over the top then filled in the frame with dacron. None of it was difficult, just took a bit of time to get it as covered as I wanted. You don't need to go for 100% coverage with the silent coat, but I had plenty to spare so went a bit OTT.

Mines has lead flashing on panels and glass wool in behind the 3mm ply.

I used a small amount of bitumous sound deadening, cut the sheet into 50mm wide strips and just added a cross to each panel that sounded hollow when tapped.

However, by far the biggest difference was putting interlocking foam floor tiles down (cut some tiles into strips to fill the floor corrugations) and then a full layer over the top. I then floated ply flooring over the top (half lap joint between sheets) and flexible adhesive around the edge to avoid any hard contact points. Cut down engine, drivetrain and road noise massively compared to my old van which had battens and celotex under the floor.

We used 4inch Rockwool in the walls and 1 inch Celotex in the roof and floor with a vapour barrier before lining with the ply covered in carpet.Heat from a Planar diesel heater run of the fuel tank

Deadening.co.uk have a combined silent coat/insulating foam, called twin or duo or summit.

Just took a delivery from them yesterday, dodo hex mats for single skins, sheets of foiled foam for over the top, and 50mm recycled plastic fleece.

Got stuff for van floor and 4 way carpet coming from harrison trim supplies tomoro.

Cab divider curtain from van x, and made window panels from Aldi foil n foam frost covers.

Need to get on with it, her ladyship wishes to sleep in it last weekend in October. 😃

I’m currently converting my caddy into a day/camper/mtb transport and went for:

Dodo sound deadening, a layer of recycled plastic insulation (Celtic sustainables), then a vapour barrier with ply over the top.

There’s a few products that claim insulation and sound deadening in one but I was dubious about how warm they would be.

Check out ‘the restoration couple’ on YouTube for a decent video series on van conversions.
