After a recomondation for a awning fo a vw crafter mwb hightop, needs to be a wind out type not drive away. Have been looking at a fiamma f80 anything else worth having a look at
I thought it was lore to use a Fiamma on a VW camper.
I've got a tule one one my t5, no idea though if they do one for a crafter.
Meant thule!
We are happy with our Thule Omnistor on our T6.
you may get some ideas here: https://www.t6forum.com/forums/crafter-corner.61/
Have you seen them fitted to other crafter's? I've got an Iveco and like yours, the sliding door goes all on the way to the roof. Even if the awning is mounted using roof brackets, the downward rake of the extended awning means the top of the sliding door may tear into it when you open the door.
There's a LWB mid height Crafter near here with a black Thule awning mounted at a jaunty angle above the door.
Don't Thule or Fiamma provide detailed plans of the exact position to attach the awning? Their brackets would be useless if they're not mounted in the correct location.
Spooky that's the thing the sliding door is actualy a cut out of the roof and i cant figure out if it would work.

Why? I've had a few vans. Had a fiamma bolt on wind out awning, they are great, but they are big and bolted on the side look a bit fugly.
I've currently got a reimo rail installed. Takes an hour to drill, glue and screw. Really small so doesn't stick out. Acts as a rain gutter too.
Kiravan rail sail slides into the kador rail in seconds, then pegs out. Its as quick to set up and far more flexible.

Or stitches and steel do one
You can get ones with sides but I've found they take time to set up and are a ball ache to take down when popping to the shops.
So bought a 4 person shelter and depending on what I'm doing either use a sail rail or tent.
I’ve had coach built vans with both Thule and Fiamma awnings and have been happy with both. Surely with a high top you can simply bolt the awning to the side of the extra roof?
We fitted Unistrut to our roof to futureproof it and have now added a couple of stainless steel hooks, this allow us to quickly fit a sail shade with king poles and guy ropes. No way were paying all that money for an awning that has be wound in if its windy.
I saw a Crafter with something like this recently

This is how mine was attached for 13 years and is still going strong with the new owner
