Off down to visit my girlfriend this weekend and am looking for recommendations for good restaurants not necessarily for 14th but just over the weekend. Any ideas?

Had some great food in the Rummer on Sunday near St Nicks. They are full on Valentine's according to the chalk board. Drinks are a bit overpriced though. Or have a wander round the harbour and pop into the pump house for posh-ish or the rose of Denmark for quality pub food in Hotwells
For lunch bring her to my cx race at a very beautiful venue. Wood fired pizza & local ale plus racing and expo, nice cotswold walk round the estate after.

ZaZu's is very good, the Glos Old Spot also , but that's a pub. If you like Indian, try Hare Krishnan's on Zetland Rd
Make sure you go to the cider boat round the corner from Mud Dock; http://applecider.co.uk/ - get some of their mulled cider. It's a phenomenally awesome beaker of loveliness!
The Mayflower chinese restaurant is a hidden gem. Great food. Less great surroundings (but that was part of the charm for my wife & I) http://www.mayflower-bristol.co.uk/
