Drivers side heating on my 2011 Octavia barely gets warm even with the dial turned up all the way; Passenger side is fine. The Skoda dealer reset the blend flaps when it went for a service but that's not fixed it. Dealer says that they need to take the dash out to diagnose further.
That's a non starter on a car of this age as it's an estimate of 10 hours work.
So, ideally I need to find someone who is adept at diagnosing and fixing such problems without needing to take the whole car apart (if that's even possible). Any ideas?
Any fishy smells coming from it?
Try doing the reset yourself following the instructions in this thread:

My Audi used to do the same thing as you're describing, it's a common problem on the system. If resets don't work then it's usually a case of removing and cleaning a potentiometer. Not sure how you go about that as the reset worked on my car and I just had to redo it every couple of months or so.
Do a Google. There are some links/forums/video which show how to run diagnostics from the control unit itself without needing to attach a 3rd party diagnostics kit. I did it some years ago on a 2000 Passat, but the controls will be different on your car so the buttons to press to initiate the checks will be different.
Is it a dual zone system? If so that's more complex than mine was.
Thanks. I'll give that a go.
Yes it's a dual zone.
Sounds like a day downside down in the foot well if the potentiometers need cleaning.

Yes it’s a dual zone.
Which I guess explains the different temperatures, er... maybe.
