I ordered up a service kit for my RS Pike forks - was only available in the US - paid the cost for part and delivery and it was shipped. All good - landed in the UK last Thursday and as of yesterday, it hasn't been delivered as the tracking system says I'm (the recipient) is being notified of fees to pay.

How do they contact me? I've heard nothing and have no idea how to contact them as the only numbers I have are US ones (which seem to be open when I'm in bed).

Nothing through the door, no email, text or phone calls, so how are they contacting me and anyone know what the fee will likely be for something that cost $95 to buy and ship? I'm assuming some customs tax and a handling fee slapped on my delivery company, but would be good to get an idea before I get a real shock.

The last stuff I had from the States was delivered at this end by Royal Mail. They emailed me, can't remember how long after the package "arrived", with details of the payment needed for release. Since you have the tracking number if you don't hear anything in a couple of days you could contact them and ask.

For personal goods under £135 in value there should be no duty payable, possibly VAT (never sure with that) and there'll be a release fee of around £8-12 for that value.

VAT on anything over about £15 I believe.

Last time I ordered via from the states, I received a card through the door, from both RM and ParcelFarce.

Ok, thanks...so looks like it is a waiting game for the note to come through the door, ta.

Or not quite...went to Royal Mail and saw a Fee to Pay option - it asked for the tracking code which I added and it gave me the fee - £18.94 - now paid and due for delivery on Friday. Thanks very much for the pointers folks.
