The boss at work gave me a lift in his new, top-end beemer last week.
I commented that it must be the high spec version.
"yes, the auto gearbox was £1500 extra"
"I was commenting on the indicator stalk ..."
He looked bemused but then I do drive behind him for six miles into work.
Mind, he doesn't indicate in his wife's golf either.
The indicators in both my BMWs seem to work just fine. I even let someone out of the junction this weekend!!

I spent so much on upgrading my wheels to the low profile ones that I could not afford the optional indicators 🙁
