Been there with AC. The little shit swore blind that they didn't have the car Mrs L really wanted and convinced her to go for a lesser model. I found the right car, at another AC 5 miles away, on the website the next day. That (smaller AC dealer) were actually fantastic to deal with!
Ha, weasels. The perfect term, thank you.
The first guy I spoke to about buying a car after I passed my test (that morning) ticked every stereotype I had in my head. Not a great start.
It was a quiet Thursday morning and I was the only person on the forecourt. We discussed an A4 Quattro for about 45 mins and got to within £100 of agreeing. I was ready to take the car, he knew this, but I'd got a fair whack off the price already and he didn't seem too happy. I conceded slightly and said that I'd take the car there and then if he threw in a full tank of fuel. He refused and said something along the lines of "You've reached as far as you'll get in this little game, this is my car and I'm in control here". So I walked away.
I reckon that either than last £70 was cutting into his commission or he just didn't like me 🙂
