Hmmm.

Was trying to find a used n/s front wing for the missus' car. Hopefully in the correct colour, to save me painting it.

But there seem to be a plethora of sites out there that simply 'connect' you with some scrappy that may/may not have the part you want. And the kicker is: they seem to be be bridging you to the end-supplier via some very expensive phone calls.

Google is full of them. First one I tried was called 24x7 Spares. Tried ringing the number, rang out for about a minute. I gave up as I had a kettle boiling. Glad I did, as when I came back to computer I googled a bit deeper about them, only to find lots of complaining voices about their service and cost of calls.

On looking around, most of these sites seem connected somehow, in that they are all using non-geographic/"personal" numbers that could be just about anywhere, and all have a cute little number-plate input box that's looking exactly the same across at least 6 sites I've found using a quick search.

Strange.

ring a local scrappy... if they don't have the part they'll know other places locally.

Ebay has some, but none in the right colour. Yeah, local scrappy, just checking out that avenue just now.

carpartsfinder.co.uk & simillar. They pass on your request to a load of breakers & they email you with quotes. Used plenty of times, always get a result.

Motorhog.co.uk is local to us and is a dismantler rather than just an agency. Haven't had need of them in years, but they used to be decent.
