Over for a couple of weeks mostly in the US and 5 days in Canada, any suggestions for networks/deals over there that would cover both?

Either three, or just get the cheapest payg when you land.

Three, works everywhere but it's likely to be quite slow (3G max speed) and they block tethering. They don't have the 30-day restriction anymore on their pay as you go SIMs, but you do need to top up and make a call in the UK (doesn't matter to whom, but it needs to be chargeable) before you set off.

Otherwise, EE's 4G Max is best as you connect to local LTE/4G networks and the fair usage limit is 15GB/month with no restrictions. Expensive, though, as you can only get it with a phone and a two-year contract.

Just got 4G Max, unlimited calls/texts, 12GB/month inc US/Canada, SIM only. One year contract. £20 (plus VAT).

Though existing customer deal it seems with promotional discounts (normally £32.99 per month, but still SIM only 1yr contract).

Not sure there is such a thing 😀

Might depend where you are as to which is best.

Major ones are T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. Then there are loads of virtual operators who use those networks.

Check what the phone supports for US bands on those networks also.

Think you can just walk into somewhere like Walmart and pick up a PAYG SIM. Not sure if you need a US address to register though.

I was looking at this earlier as I'm planning on a trip across BC

Might be of help to choose a company depending on coverage for the areas you're visiting.
