Thinking about getting a cheap monitor to plug into the MacBook Pro, only need it for office documents and the like. The cheapest I have found is Dell p2419 or the 22inch version.
Just wondering if any one has any experience, can offer any recommendations.
Any would actually do as you can get adapters for HDMI, VGA, Display port. My laptop at work has one screen via HDMI and one via a VGA adapter on the USB C
I know I can get adaptors, which don't seem to be that cheap, but having noticed that the monitor comes with a usb hub just makes some sense in my head. That It seems I can charge the Mac through the monitor reduces the cable mess.

Check what Usb-pd standard the monitor supports, and which mac it is. Different kit needs/supports different wattages.
E.g. that dell 2419 is 20V/3.25A, 15V/3A, 9V/3A, 5V/3A. So that can’t do as much wattage as a 15” MBP charger, not sure what the minimum to charge one is, you can google that yourself.
