Police are not helping full stop...'we can't get involved in a fishing trip' was the line. Anthony knows some very bike theft friendly police in Bristol and has history at recovering bikes from ebay scrotes, so I know he can get my mate (ex-owner of a nice mtb) in touch with the right officer to get this sorted the right way.
I've messaged Anthony on the mobile number I have for him but that is 3.5 years old, I've facebooked him and BristolTrailsGroup so he ought to see one message, but....I'm covering all bases, since this is urgent.

Neil,

I'm a Policeman at Southmead Police Station and have spoken to Anthony on a number of occasions in the past. My Email is in my profile - if you send me some details I'll look into it for you if you'd like - can't promise anything mind.

cheers. I know there are lots of Bristol guys on here and most/many know the nice bearded man that fixes the trails....so hopefully this will get passed on to Ant and my mate can get some help from the law to recover his bike.

Do you think he was any good at chasing bikethieves before he thought he was any good at football. 😉

I'll see if i can pop round tomorrow.

Taylor,

Cast is off and have started physio today. If i could borrow the Turbo Trainer that would be excellent. I'm back to work tomorrow so if I could drop round or you come round to me after 4PM that would be grand.

Neil,

I know Mark well and he's probably the best at getting these bikes as he's a supervisor on a Priority Crime Team - he's based at Broadbury Rd now. Top bloke.

The owner is a top bloke, a seriously nice guy who has had a run of bad luck with his bikes recently and could do with a lucky break like this.

I really hope that it gets recovered.

Indeed, owner now has the details of Bristol police officers with experience in recoving stlen bikes from ebay scrotes so hopefully this will end well.

Ambrose, was it theft 1 or 2 that Rob has spotted? 2 had a rather distinctive colour scheme....

It's threads like this that make me love stw.

the "shouty kid needing a new fork" is another.

People help, but sometimes so tangentially that half the people on the thread think they're being trolled.

Fingers and toes all crossed here in Wales. A bike is for life, not for [s]Christmas[/s] stealing by some low-life.

bike name deleted. Mod

ambrose.. I'd avoided naming the bike to reduce clues being made for the potential ebay scrote seller 🙄
