I need to replace the deadbolt keeps (not sure of the technical name) above and bellow one of my doors as the little adjustable cams are rusted and wont turn. They are arched doors so the top deadbolt keep is curved and I have no idea what brand they are. They were already installed when I moved in.
Does anyone know any brands of arched doors or the correct name for the parts I need?
You don't specifically get arched doors from one brand, they would of been templates and made to fit. There should be some kind of branding on the door/ recess and definitely some sort of coding on the actual lock system, normally referred to as a 3 or 5 point multi lock system
A really clued up locksmith will have the online catalogues with all kind of shoot bolts. As above, you need the manufacturer of the bolt, there may only be a logo but that should be enough. I know somewhere in Edinburgh who's good for this kind of thing.
All it has is the following code which I think is just the dimentions:
AW BS EN 12608:2003 M II
There are no logos or stickers anywhere on the door or inside the frame.
12608 is just the British standard for the door. Ie minimum standaed of compliance to be sold legally in the UK as a dwelling door.
