You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Before i call UPS this afternoon, just wondering if I've got any comeback here. I sold a pair of forks and shipped them to buyer in Sweden on 14th Jan. Yesterday they arrived back at my house. Looking at the tracking info it seems they made it to Sweden but weren't delivered because the address wasn't recognised or in the correct format. Checked with buyer and the address is definitely correct, in any case they had that info when they accepted the booking. I should add they only turned up once I chased them last week to see why they hadn't arrived.
So am I going to be left out of pocket by paying to get them delivered again or should they be doing this at no extra charge?
Based on experience they'll probably say no refund. They're happy to take your money but won't guarantee any delivery terms.
We needed 3 pallets shipped over to France to be there within a 36 hour deadline so paid for next day delivery on a dedicated lorry - it only had our stuff on it yet managed to turn up 4 hours late!
Initially they refused any refund and finally relented as we use them a lot. Even then it was only a part refund, the difference between 24h and normal delivery cost.
That's what I fear. Although in this case they've been paid to deliver something and they haven't done it at all.
IME, slim but possible.
This error code is often used by drivers in lieu of 'couldn't find the address, didn't want to contact adressee'. The chance you have got is down to the fact that the reason given by then (address in wrong format) is factually incorrect thus a lot easier to prove than them saying delivery was attempted and the guy wasn't in.
