Not sorted out a 2011 Festival yet
+1 for Sonisphere.
Aynsley Lister at the Railway Tavern, Winchester.
Hoping to catch JLS three or four times this year.
beej
I love the Railway...
Haven't been there for a while (I think it was Ginger of Wildhearts fame) and that was coming up for two years ago!
Good little pub/venue
Kate Nash - Brighton
Jim Jones Revue - Brighton
Killing Joke - London
BAD - London
Janet Jackson - London
The Damned - Bristol
Should keep me out of trouble.
Kyuss at the forum 2nd April (sorry whippersnapper - my bro found tickets for £40 today if that's any good?)
Hospitality at Brixton Academy 22nd April (London Elektricity, B-Complex, Netsky etc) can't wait.
Danny Byrd - tomorrow night!
Bravohotel8er - yeah, I've heard it's good. My first visit.
Elbow on the 29th at the O2, Honeyfest on April 16 with Dry The River, Magic Numbers and Laura Marling among others, and Arcade Fire in Hyde Park later on.
DezB, I noticed you listed Darkstar; not the Dark Star, a very loud three-piece who released an album called
20-20 Sound back in the 90's?
Allegri - Miserere Mei, Deus and some other choral pieces at St Martins in the Fields, Nodnol. Candelit too 🙂
Should be ace, which is just as well since impending baby means gigs are off the radar for a bit 🙁 Bloody mogwai are playing my local festival this summer too :(((((
Hopefully Dan Baird early July.
Good to see The Railway getting a mention!
Elbow here as well. Can't wait
Bombay Bicycle Club in Glasgow.....end of the month. I only paid £25 for a £5 ticket!
descendents/teenage bottlerocket at shepherd's bush empire, april 25th is the only gig i currently have plans to attend.
Want to see Interpol too but no-one I know wants to go so won't pay £££££s to see them - instead waiting to see if I can pick up a cheap single ticket on EBay.
Got tickets to Iron Maiden in the summer.
Ordering tickets to Judas Priest / Queensryke tomorrow if I remember.
If Interpol has sold out, have you looked on Scarlet Mist m_f?

Nope. Newish, electronic type band
The Wedding Present - 20 May - Slade Rooms Wolvo
Cheers rich - I just meant I won't pay face value as I will be going by myself so just watching eBay for a cheap one
Damn, there I was getting all excited at the thought they'd reformed and were going to release the second album that got canned. Bugger. Love that band.
Dark Star were an English rock band from London whose music mixed dark psychedelica with a dub undertow and noisy effects-laden guitar.
Their drummer often used maracas as drum sticks, for a 'fuller' sound.
Funny that, I've just realised I have 20 20 Sound! Graceadelica was the standout track wasn't it? Yeah, they be a top live band 🙂
Went to the Screamadelica thing at Brum the other night...twas good.
Ian Siegal Band tomorrow night at the Borderline
so far this year I've been to see:
Burns Unit
Go! Team
Mogwai
Goblin
have these planned:
explosions in the sky
and you will know us by the trail of dead / rival schools
clutch / gwar (still can't really believe these two are playing together 😯 )
off to Wacken Open Air in the summer and looking forward to seeing Motorhead, Airbourne, Kyuss, Skindred, Sepultura, Judas Priest, Suicidal Tendancies, Hayseed Dixie, lots of other random metal and, how can I forget, Excrementory Grind****ers.
Good to see Aynsley Lister getting a mention. 8) So the Winchester venue is quite acceptable? Have seen him at The Maltings in Farnham before, full of character there.
Also see that Imelda May has been mentioned, she is good - supported Joe Bonamassa couple of years ago. Actually I believe she was discovered by Mike Sanchez, she sang in his band and saw them quite a few years ago.
I've got nothing lined up. 🙁
Arctic Monkeys supported by the Vaccines in Sheffield Arena in June
can't think of anybody I want to see at the moment.
Would like to see Stiff Little Fingers at Leeds next week but I'm skint 🙁
Debaser - How were Go! Team?
Have seen them a few times, great band but tend to play rubbish venues. Their new album must be out about now.
Go! Team were a riot. Saw them at the Liquid Room in Edibnburgh which is around 800 capacity, not sure if it would work as well in bigger venues.
I didn't really think they'd be able to cram as much energy into a live show as they manage to do on recordings but they do it pretty effectively.
I like the new album. They've broadened the number of musical styles they pinch stuff from but I think it hangs together really well. Nice mix of vocals on the tracks.
Cool, I will order it today.
Saw them at Zodiac in Oxford and Astoria in London and they were amazing, but the Electric Ballroom was a disaster, Electrowerkz was OK but really smelly and I didn't even bother going to Heaven - having (not) seen bands there before.
Gigs in nightclubs are a terrible idea.
Take That at the end of May. Awesome.
Don't go to the arena STR - it's at Don Valley Bowl!
Nothing much in the next couple of months but seeing Simple Minds (Mrs Feet wants to see them) at Thetford Forest in June followed a few days later by Cinderella at Shepherds Bush - Really looking forward to that. Big hair 80's metal. Bring it on!!!
Elbow - last night (ok so not up and coming) - lived up to and exceeded expectations - they were fantastic, brilliantly beautiful songs. Guy knows how to bring the audience to life and seems like a really nice bloke on top of being a fantastically talented musician
The Enid at Bury at the end of the month.
Go and see Three Bonzos and a Piano if you get the chance.
Like Vic Reeves Big Night Out but with better tunes.
Best gig I've seen in ages.
Flaming Lips / British Sea Power / OK GO @ Jodrell Bank, Cheshire
They'll be using the big dish as a projection screeen
As my user name suggest, can't wait for this one 😀 😀 😀
I usually have a lot of respect for this forum, but not one mention of the Rival Schools gig in April, you are all dammed, dammed I tell thee!
IOW Festival starting June 9th. 🙂
Go and see Three Bonzos and a Piano if you get the chance

I saw them twice circa United by Fate, if that's any consolation?
New album sounds great.
I've also seen Gorilla Biscuits, CIV, Quicksand and Walking Concert...I'm a Walter Schreifels fanboy 😛
The Foos playing in Auckland to support Chch this weekend, but the wife is in the club so I'll be in the bad books if I abandon her... grrr life suks sometimes. Still, got it easy compared to many Cantabrians so will still happily pay over the odds for a ticket I won't get 🙂
Lifer,
It's Rodney Slater, Sam Spoons & Roger Ruskin Spear.
All the well known tunes and two hours of anarchy.
The leg shaped theremin, the trouser press and the crap robots are all there too 😀
Anyone seen La Shark?
If not, you should. Unforgettable.
30th March - The Frames in Dublin
31st March - Elbow, also in Dublin
15th April - Josh Ritter, Dublin AGAIN
Then the big one, 24th May - Roger Waters in... you guessed it, Dublin.

Double header with And you will know us by the trail of dead at the Garage in Glasgow.
I am very excited indeed.

add Youth of Today to that list (walter played bass) and that'd be me!
although i was a bit underwhelmed by Rival Schools, thought their songs (back at that first time they played over here) were like quicksand songs that never quite got going, but the new LP is pretty good though. pity it's a week before descendents in london and i'm probably gonna lose my job in the next month so i can't afford both, and have already got descendents tickets/hotel etc sorted.
bravohotel8er & debaser - redeemed 🙂
I went to see Walter play on his solo tour earlier this year, tiny pub so he was just chilling in the bar on his Macbook before the gig. It was awesome, Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits and Rival Schools covers as well as his not too shabby solo work. Great night. And yeah I'm really enjoying the new album!
My friend has just informed me that we have tickets to Weezer on July 7th!
I haven't seen them since Reading 1996. They pulled out of an entire UK tour in summer 2001 and Reading the same year I believe.
Obviously, things went badly wrong after Maladroit, although the most recent album is said to be a partial return to form.
Worth it just for the Blue/Pinkerton content and a smattering of tracks from Green/Maladroit and Red though IMHO. I just try and pretend that Make Believe and Raditude had never been recorded.
