My 2g iphone is unlocked and I want to upgrade the software as it's still on v3. Some newer apps wont work with the old software.
If I update it does anyone know if this will relock the phone?
The unlocking was done by a corner shop type phone shop. Means paying another tenner to unlock it again which I don't mind but it's not very convenient!

Shouldn't do, it's unlocked, not jailbroken. I have a 3G that I'm going to get unlocked by O2 so I can use an alternative network PAYG sim and I'll be upgrading to the latest OS as well. Jailbreaking usually causes issues when updating the OS.
What's the difference in 'jailbreaking/unlocking?
it's got an app called Cydia on it which appeared when unlocked.
