My daughter has been given a place at Kings College London to study midwifery and I'm only just getting around to checking out all the student loan stuff/fees etc.

Does anyone have some recent experience to give me some tips on the process etc please?

No idea!! My daughter did her application (its her loan after all) and I just completed the family income declaration.

London? Borrow the maximum possible!

As above, your daughter does the application and then you're invited to add the financial information.

* Everyone is entitled to a loan to cover the fees.

* There's a means-tested maintenance loan on top. The way it's repaid means that it'll almost certainly get written off before it's paid back so borrow as much as physically possible.

* There may be other sources of funding for midwifery?

Echo comments above, my daughter did all of the paperwork, I just had to fill in a form.

She also got a couple of grants, one from local council the other from the Uni, definitely worth researching whats available (can't give any detail, she sorted everything out)
