Was all set to do a little metal tidying and my can of hammerite has clogged. White removable valve is clear as used a fresh one and still no paint. Can valve is jammed down. Glug some alcohol or white spirit on it? Despite my track record of doing impulsive and possibly hazardess DIY related acts I’m resisting the urge to stick something sharp and pointy into it!
Cheers
Cellulose thinner or acetone, Hammerite is a very hard-wearing paint, it needs a pretty aggressive solvent once hard. I have a feeling it might be better to mend it with a new can.
mend it with a new can.
😂😂
Off to wickes tomorrow!
Cheers
For the future when you are finished painting if you turn the can upside down and give it a quick squirt it will clear the dip tube and nozzle.
There's a gazillion caps available on graffiti webshops for pennies and most will fit a can of hammerite. Tailor your spray pattern too!
Or pop into a shop and rob a few new caps in the traditional manner.
