Ive used this forum for a few years now, and a lot of times it has been my go to place for informed comment on various topics. I have witnessed some outlandish cr*p on here over the years, but I have never really got involved in any of it. So I am shocked that I have had a thread I started closed for no other reason than asking some reasonable questions, which with more information and opinions received, could help me better prepare for similar adventures with my two year old, and ultimately avoid any tragedies.
Awesome forum administration there! And if anyone can comment on why it was closed and what rules had been breached I'd be very interested to hear about it....

however much the thoughts behind it were genuine it wouldnt have stayed that way and nobody can answer your questions without wild speculation

Oh and no discussing moderation decisons (which were the correct ones in this case)

My guess is, it was closed because someone asked for it to be closed.

I'm a vocal non-advocate of the modding on here, but in this case it was appropriate, your questions were asked in a bit of a finger pointy way. Any right thinking person would prefer to give those involved some space to deal with their own issues and not have to answer questions about their actions to someone on a forum who knows nuffing about what went on.

as guy martin says in TT3D:

Unbelievable? No - a man eating his own head - I've yet to see that. Now that would be unbelievable!

Make a reference to a Nazi regime and move on.

Except, you see, if he had seen it, then it would have to become believable. Because he would have seen it and in seeing it he would have had to have reached the decision to believe what he had seen with his own two eyes, you see.

Well I was assuming that a niche mountain bike forum wasnt a direct route to people involved, and therefore no further hurt would be caused. I do feel for the families hugely, and no accusations were intended. Its just that there are a lot of discussions on here relating to subjects in the media. Hadnt thought that this forum had descended into a "what tyres for...." type place.
