after a very frustrating and somewhat unbelievable experience this past winter with the local u9 football league, we finally walked away in disgust a few weeks back, my boy took to the field this morning for his first rugby game. what a difference!

the coaching, discipline, kids, parents, all really lovely and totally unlike the farce that is football.

so cheers chaps for the advice on this.

Nice one gav - I think it was your thread that persuaded me to take my boy to rugby. He's made the Petersfield U9s team after a couple of months, we both love spending our Sunday mornings at the rugby club.
Shame they've had to cancel the past 2 weeks cos the ground is too hard!

most of the time its parents

yes, i did witness a parent throw a strop because her son was'nt on the field from the off. the coach in the dugout dealt with it very well and explained exactly why. but still, nothing like football.
