why did people suddenly have more money 7 years on ?
effects of 2008 have not finished yet - not sure why anything would have changed.
I had assumed the economy has recovered a bit since 2008. Obviously not as far a tyres are concerned....
many people haven't had a pay rise in more than 5 years, for those people/us, money is even tighter now.
I wonder how the correlation would fit with turbocharged engine percentages - first turbodiesels and more recently turbocharged petrols are becoming more common, with more low down torque and a non-instant response so you're far more likely to get the odd bit of wheelspin and wear tyres out faster...
Or if it is just people that think an accident next time it gets wet will be cheaper than a tyre or two.
