Fancy 2 weeks in the Alps this summer with my wife and 4.5 year old. Can you recommend anywhere? If you know of accommodation too please let me know. No need for downhill mtb routes as it's a 'family' holiday - I don't need the temptation 🙂
Thanks
Anybody been to Zell am See?
I was told off for even thinking about it.
My folks lived near La Clusaz and we had loads of great holidays there, La Clusaz and Le Grand Bernaud are great summer resorts and Annecy is lovely, especially the lake. Chamonix is always great and has loads going on. As it happens we're off to Alpes D'huez this year for a couple of weeks.
Bourg St Maurice? Foot of Les Arcs and offers rafting, Hydro boarding, Horse riding, Parcour, Cycling, Paragliding, Walking. Its also close to Switzerland and Italy for day trips.

Second vote for La Clusaz. We have been there for three Summers and always have a great time. Loads of things to do for the kids and Annecy is great for an easy family ride and picnic at the lakeside. We stay in a catered chalet (www.gravite.com) run by a couple - they do breakfast and evening meal with the wine thrown in (in the evening).
I went to La Clusaz for two weeks about 12 years ago and had a great time. I seem to recall a good swimming pool and lots of toboggan rides.
This year I'm going to Bourg Saint Maurice. But with a bike 😆
Few years back we stayed in Grand Bornand (and Faine) and it was brilliant. Chair lift to top, baking hot fresh alpine meadows with cows with bells - all it needed wsa Heidi. Excellent muni swimming pool (with odd french rules about budgie smugglers and no tops).
I noted Les Gets getting ready all kid friendly last week too.
Sixt-Fer-a-cheval. A proper French alpine village with lots of water sports available. Lots of beautiful scenery as well, stunning place.
Cool, a bit to look at there. Thanks
Lovely little hotel in a great village. Lots of riding, great food and more.
I vote for Austria. Cheaper and friendlier than the French alps IME (thou the French alps are still great).
