By “blocked all videos” do you mean all youtube videos, specifically? What happens when you visit a page with video on the BBC Website? (a good way of checking if this is a Flash thing)

for emails, what were you using to access them?

assuming a win 10 upgrade rather than clean install?

Both blocked or no flash installed? Try vimeo and html5 vids. Email what are your mail settings, win 10 mail was easy to setup and web mail should still be fine

Hence the first response 😉

Generally read emails off iPad or Mac.

Only use pc rarely - its a database for consulting work. I think it's due to settings.

I upgraded to W10 from prompt. Then went into mail and added my email address. For some reason I have missed how to link it to the old emails

For the history

In Mail:

Click the settings button (cog on bottom LHS) >Manage Accounts > [insert name] AOL Account > Scroll down and change "Download email from' to 'any time'

If you click the three lines at the top LHS and expand the panel you can synch other folders with the 'More' link.
