Recently posts that people I follow have started to appear in my feed, anyone know any way of stopping it? Ideally I want a simple, chronological timeline.

No idea but I always think the processes that order stuff in Facebook and Twitter feeds in the android app are on the code equivalent of some kind of psychotropic drug. It's not so much I want more of what I click but less of the stuff I don't.
