As noted by a few others Salem Lot also scared me a lot. I still do not like watching it now actually.

Invasion of The Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland gave me the creeps as well.

It sounds reasonably similar to "The invaders"

It does, doesn't it. Like z1ppy says though, I could've sworn it was newer than that. But I was little so who knows. Here, did The Tripods ever do anything like this, or was it all just stompy metal buggers?

I used to hide behind the sofa during the Doctor Who music...watching the programme was ok, I just didn't like the music.

The 'time tunnel' credit sequence circa the Fourth Doctor used to terrify me. I'm not wholly sure why, I vaguely remember feeling claustrophobic about it, like it went on for ever and you could never get out.

I also remember some messed up clip/scene from a film i stumbled in on that my parents were watching, i "think" it was called Xtro or something similar. Quite disturbing when i were a lad.

It. Tim Curry as the clown scared the hell out of me when I saw it around 10 years old. Probably why I find myself so uneasy(scared) about clowns.

To be honest, a traffic warden with an SLR would probably scare me even now.

The strategic defence review has plans for him - he will be the entire infantry.

That bergerac episode with the burnt bloke in the cape

and CaptainFlashheart what was that picture of? I remember a recurring nightmare as a kid involving those gits in the white masks with the big noses.

A mate of mine recently told me about a nightmare he had of Zelda from Terrahawks when he was a kid. However in his version she was called the tickler. Terrifying

good call CFH on noseybonk.

One that sticks in the mind (its probably tame as anything) was called 'dark night of the scarecrow' - anyone see that?

also a few of the hammer horror movies/made for TV jobs. I remember one with a werewolf that looked more like a bear but scared the poop outta me. 😀
also 'the house that bled to death'

Oh yeah, The House That Bled To Death..

If i recall, it was a family trying to pretend their house was haunted in order to make money but it sent their daughter round the twist and she walked into the bedroom at the end with a Kukri and chopped them both up! 🙂

Poltergeist again here. I'd gone to stay the night at a friends house and had been told we'd be watching Chariots of Fire.

+1 for Sapphire and Steel. Extra points for Steel for being a bit niche.

Salems lot...yes! Also an old oliver read film called "The Brood".
Them in about 1981 there was a black and white film I saw with a defrosted alien/monster on a train...no idea what it was called, but for those of us with irresponsible parents it made playground games and sleepless nights for several weeks.

Mrs McHamish didn't like Labyrinth and Round the Twist, she especially didn't like the music.

Round the Twist was FANTASTIC! Good god.

#Have you ever,
Ever felt like this?
How strange things happen,
Are you going round the twist?#

Does anyone else get a little nervous swimming in deep water in the sea...especially if you can just about see the bottom but see some dark shapes that might be big rocks but are probably sharks.

I think Jaws possibly scared me the most when I was young.
