just changed tv and kept the original wall mounting plate as its too much of a faff to replace and drill holes for a new one. its one like this.....

problem is new tv has all the hdmi plugs sticking out the back rather than the side, so theyre pushing against the wall. ideally id need another inch away from the wall to clear them. i dont want a new plate, or one of them cantilever jobs, i just wondered if there was something that could just hook over that top lip on the plate for the tv to hook onto, a sort of 'extension to the original plate' thatll project the tv an inch or so further off the wall.
google doesnt seem to show anything, so maybe not. anyone know of anything thats not going to be a faff?
thanks
Would a 90 degree HDMI cable work?
If pushing against the wall rather than the plate, what about longer fixing screws and spacers? I seem to remember using a combination of cut lengths of pipe and washers to prevent "punching" into wall when tightening up the screws. Sorted!
Bolt some 3x2 onto the wall using the existing holes the remount the bracket on that.
just had to google them, didnt know there was such a thing. hard to say, they may well do, thanks, might be worth a punt.
(mods, can you move to chat forum please)
thanks
EDIT as typing at same time: i did wonder about pushing the actual plate off the wall with spacers (or a bit of wood) but im not sure how long the screws are. theyre probably quite substantial tho so that may be worth a punt too.
thanks.
Almost every wall mount kit I've installed comes with black plastic spacers that allows you to stand the bracket off the back of the tv.

This. Google right angle hdmi and they're a few quid for the adaptors. Don't mess about with the mount, just get these.

yep, mine too, ive maxed them out already for the screws into tv tho.
thanks
I got 90°adapters for the same job. So those, or new cables with 90° plugs.
just ordered a pack of 3 x 90 degree hdmi adaptors, only a few quid so good for a gamble.
thank you very much.
