I've had sockets put up on wall for TV to be mounted, got mice new TV and ultra-thin TV mount and now, obviously, the three pin socket sits too proud and I can't mount the TV. Two options seem to be to replace socket with fused spur or put spacers on TV mount. I'd rather not do either. Is there such a thing as an ultra thin plug that I could replace the standard plug with. My googlefu is failing me and I've not found a solution.
Is the problem the actual plug head, the depth of the socket plate, or a combination of both?

Change the socket for a fused spur and hardwire the TV into it.
But you still need some space behind the TV for plugging in other stuff. eg HDMI, aerial, ethernet.
So some spacers on the mount may be the easiest option.
I'd get rid of the mice too, they're buggers for chewing through cables.
Yep, spotted the mice issue after the 15min edit window closed!
I think I'll just go with spacers for now and add it to the list of things to fix and make better in the future (which means it will probably never be done)

Then the recessed socket in my second post is the only way I can think of solving it, beyond the spacers of course.
You could mount it on an arm rather than directly to the wall. Then you can convince yourself that you've done it intentionally to move it around when you're sitting in different places. Or pull it closer when watching and flatten it away again when not in use.
Or do what Toby suggested, that looks to be exactly the solution designed for your issue.
