We have a Panasonic TV with the standard 3.5mm audio jack. When we plug in headphones, the sound comes through them, but the TV sound is still being heard?

I thought that when you plugged in headphones that it would mute the TV speakers. Is there an option under audio settings that will correct this?

I have had a quick look but I cant see it, yet.

Headphones plugged in, sound through both TV speakers and headphones, but adjusting the volume its only increasing through TV speakers......it's been a long couple of days! lol

Sounds like a line out, the sort of thing you'd hook up to a separate amp and speakers and you control the volume from there.

Some TVs have a single port that can be headphones or line out, and you can change how it behaves in the settings.

I have a panasonic like that. Mute the tv and adjust headphone volume in the sound menu.
