Having been unemployed the last few weeks, thankfully been offered a temp job in a couple more, i have spent a fair bit of time watching Iplayer, 4od etc. Recently it dawned on me that i hadn't spent anytime watching ITV, then it further dawned on me that even when watching tv i almost never bother with ITV, the odd film is about it.

I seem to remember them complaining that advertising was falling, and viewing figures were down. am I actually missing anything on ITV?

I realised a while back that I never ever watch ITV. I don't watch much on TV anyway, but the only things I do watch or always on BBC (often a documentary on iPlayer after seeing a thread on here, like that Knopfler thing the other night), Channel 4 or occasionally Five (and its offshoots).

The only time ITV is on in our house is when Mrs PixelMix is watching some rubbish like X Factor.

I'm not at all surprised that their figures are dropping. It is even worse here in Scotland I believe, as STV don't have enough funds to buy any decent programmes. I honestly wouldn't have noticed if they had pulled the plug on STV/ITV 3 months ago.

Is the [s]eastenders channel[/s] bbc any better?

OK the natural history department keeps coming up with the goods, but other than that it is more dumbed down than the commercial channels.

BBC have natural history etc plus Doctor Who (and offshoots) and Sherlock Holmes. At least they try.

If it weren't for the footy on ITV I wouldn't miss it at all.

ITV basically cater for all the shite my missus watches. Wall to wall reality crap and "Celebrity" fly on the wall bollocks.... I don't really get hold of the remote now so just go play with bikes in the Garage or have a night ride... iplayer is handy....

Doctor Who (and offshoots) and Sherlock Holmes

Exactly, dumbed down crap. A monkey dancing on a keyboard could come up with better scripts than those shows.

I don't even bother looking at what's on itv anymore and haven't done for several years. It's tabloid tv, obsessed with minor celebrities, soaps and soap stars and completely vacuous television. I don't think I'll ever watch itv again.

ITV is pants, no doubt it.

The TV was on in the lounge the other day and there was a string of adverts on in the background for various programmes and they were pants and then I realised it was ITV.

As loddrik above, I rarely even bother to look at the listings for itv. Utter rubbish. Luckily I live alone and do not have to watch celebity stuff, and Mrs B has not even got a tv so when she is here isn't bothered about watching nonsense.

I did watch the FA cup highlights though.

<off topic>Incidentally, has anyone any idea why I can't find the Tom Simpson documentary on iPlayer? I though it would be available since it has been on TV within the past 7 days.</ off topic>
