I have a Samsung plasma model PS42Q97HDHDX/XEU
It's dead clicking on/off power supply problem I know that,however my question is the power supply (smps) part number BN44-00161A is written on the board but I can get a BN44-00162A from a 50 inch set looks the same pcb will it/does it work ? as I don't want to damage the set.
I have carried out the board repair before as well with a kit off the net but it's blown again after 3 years or so .
Any help Appreciated .
42inch down to 19 don't bother me but the ladies of the house not so impressed !
i used t dable around with this sort of thing and my gut feeling is that 162a is a later revision board but essentially the same thing but i cant confirm this. however i did a quick google and it would suggest that the repair kits fix both of these boards.
this does not mean that they are the same though.
get a second opinion first 🙂 maybe on a tv repair forum if such a thing exists.

Ours had 2 dead uns and did what you say .
Replaced em and works fine
no caps are ok , got 2 transistors gone down and 2 3pin diodes surface mounted gone ...
