I know it's a regular question.. apparently my uncle can no longer watch ch5 and others due to them being moved to a different satellite (?). He's heard that there's box that can go between his router and TV, you just 'buy' that will sort this out.
Any idea what he's on about?
He's not interested in Expat Shield, (I assume) as he runs a smart TV, direct from the router & says ES is too unreliable anyway.
Just get him to watch Tele Cinco and slobber all over Carme Chaparro. Yum.
might be fine for him but his partner and daughter will still want Ch5... (and no I don't know why either).
To add to the first post, I believe he wants a way to get to 5OD & others via the internet and cut out the satellite link, so I believe he needs something that spoofs a UK address for the on demand players
[s]Don Simon[/s]davidjones15, didn't you live in Spain for a while?
Yup. But I never had UK TV so can't help the OP on this.

So, back from a ban under another name?
Google "unblock us".
It's a DNS service that spoofs location and is quicker than VPN tunnelling.
It's mostly used for getting the USA version of NetFlix over here in the UK.
Costs about £3 a month iirc.
Love-in's aside, tbh my uncle was a bit worse for wear when he phoned me, but thinking about his description, it doesn't seem technically possible unless the hardware works in conjunction with a server spoofing the iP address.
Bueller? Bueller? Anyone...
Edit: will check that [above]out thanks, but he was convinced it was a one off payment for the box..
So, back from a ban under another name?
Have a look and see the second thread he ever posted on. Apt 🙂
ahem... any more for anymore?
I have a linksys router with wrt, that has a vpn set up on it (overplay), so I have 2 wireless networks, one of which is a permanent vpn to the uk.
It was a bit of a pita to set up, so not really for the technically inept.
