Well George wants the shops to stay open on Sundays now. Which means more people, which means more trains, so more [s]opportunity for blackmail[/s] work.

Or are you going to argue with Bob eh? Are you?

Unite said the company is demanding "unlimited flexibility" for an indefinite period of time after the Games have finished.

I think they're quite right to reject it on those grounds.

Unite said the company is demanding "unlimited flexibility" for an indefinite period of time after the Games have finished.

(RMT) union representatives unanimously agreed to advise their members to reject the offer because it does not include drivers.

So they are not rejecting the deal over the level of payment, but because its not inclusive, and the management appear to expect it to be open ended in duration, seems quite a reasonable to reject it as it currently stands.

Its the first offer from the management, so they obviously support the idea in principle.
Now its a case of negotiating the details so the both sides are happy, thus contributing to a successful Olympics for all involved.
