my mates lad lives in leeds and needs a new car. my mates going to go over on saturday to help him find one, but says that all the affordable garages seem to be getting poor reviews.
does anyone have and recommendations for somewhere where hes not going to get shafted, and would be approachable if there were any problems?
hes not rolling in it, so i guess itll be a car at the lower end of the market, just wants something dependable from a trustworthy garage.
thanks
Maybe have a wander round a 'car supermarket' just for an idea of what's in budget..maybe here but they don't seem to have anything less than about £8k... it's kind of impossibe without knowing a budget and what your mates requirements are.
just had a word with him. max budget £4,500 and just a nice, good condition, low mileage hatchback.
preference for your far eastern jobbies, but will consider anything really.
thanks
I'd have a look at autor-trader and make a shortlist.....
I did a quick search for what I think will be suitable parameters:
Maybe gove the Ford 'Eco-BOOM!' cars a miss though.
lovely, ill pass that on. thanks for your help.

I've recently bought a car from these guys in Kippax. Good service and good follow up. I had a problem the same week with engine knocking and stalling. Took it back to them, they sorted it out and ended up replacing 3 of the injectors that had failed when tested. Car runs like a dream now. No arguing or trying to squirm out of any responsibilities, they just got it sorted.
It's a long time since I've bought a car from Leeds area. I live in Leeds but have traveled for my last few.
I'd recommend places around Leeds though. Castleford, Wakey, Batley sort of places for potentially better deals than in Leeds itself.
