Just found out my nice enough but annoyingly not very good and obstructively obsessed with arse covering manager is not going to be my manager any more. Instead I'm getting the easy going and very competent bloke 🙂

He also rides a bike well enough but keeps taking on ludicrous challenges in his late 50s like Iron Mans or ultramarathons and badly knackering himself during training.

Don't think I've seen my manager this year yet, I generally just get left alone to do 'stuff'.

Tonight I'll be picking up some free parquet flooring for my hall, courtesy of DrP (and MrsP)

Yeah we have lots of different managers. One to allocate us to projects, then there may be managers on that project, and we have a personnel manager who has to sign off expenses and generally be annoying every few months. It's that last one that's just changed.

Tonight's tea is pork chops, chips and cider. I'm unreasonably excited about this.

I managed to get tickets to both weekend days of the 6 music festival.

My new saddle is tremendously comfortable.

After 5 months of dealing with the completely and utterly useless company that is Npower, a manager has now been in touch (just as we go to take them to court). A letter arrived this morning with a confirmation of the £350+ refund and suggesting further compensation for such poor service...

Me and my boss ( who's a thoroughly top bloke) went to see Kate Tempest last night. She was absolutely ****ing amazing. One of the best gigs I've ever been too. We've got in slightly hungover this morning and just had enormous bacon, sausage and egg barms delivered. And its FRIDAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! So early finish too

In a rush this morning so didn't have time to put dressing on my lunchtime salad. Was resigned to blandness, only to find my missus has pre-emptedly applied some creamy ceasar. Lovely.

My wife and kids will be home when I get in later after a week away!

Genuinely good news, I've missed the hell out of them

I've just had the new front door fitted without any bother and the Mrs is out all day and all this evening so I get to pop out for Chinese buffet when I fancy it. Winning!

Rang up NPower to give first real electric reading last night after living here for nearly 12 months, dreading it slightly.

£300 refund from a DD totalling £440?

I can only assume LED lights were a wise investment, or something's wrong somewhere. Still, I'll have that back please!

Bought a new Ipod after the whole Nano/washing machine interface. Upgraded to an Ipod Touch. Spotifytastic.

Also, heading down to the coast to stay in a static caravan for the weekend. If I can smuggle my bike along, it'll be ace.

One of the factory lads brought home made ginger parkin for everyone.

Idiot didn't mention it before I went to the shop though so no custard.

My 4 yo daughter is at her 3rd football lesson tomorrow morning. I missed last week's and will thoroughly enjoy seeing her running around and learning something new as the only girl among a a group of boys.

It's taught her more physicality and confidence in movement than Saturday morning dance classes did. And not a tutu in sight....

After a couple of weeks on and off working on GeoTIFFs my code is now working and I can extract height data and plot ground profiles etc from them. Horrible file format to have to work with mind, way too complex for it's own good.

My boss has just announced he is away all next week - so we might actually get some work done!

I'm off to the footy tomorrow with my daughter (1st time this season), to see the mighty Rams stuff Reading in the FA Cup.
